Cast Table
The following is a simple cast list designed for HP characters. The characters are assigned to their houses by colored divider bars, so if you want to have the colors mean something else it could be easily adapted to other types of games.

affiliation: dumbledore's army
extras: prefect, charms club
status: nail biter
Marcus Belby
Harry Judd
year: 6th

extras: quidditch, chess club, (band)
status: you call that music?
Lavender Brown
Meaghan Jette Martin
year: 7th
affiliation: dumbledore's army
extras: none
status: flirt at your own risk
Tracey Davis
Megan Prescott
year: 7th
affiliation: neutral
extras: none
status: sidekick
Alecto Carrow
Kathy Bates

affiliation: death eaters
extras: none
status: watch out

Besides the set up being awesome, I like that Alecto is fat and unappealing. Soooooooo different than all the pretty pbs people keep using.

I dunno man. I made the icons, and while I get what you're saying, Kathy's not fat, she's normal. People use freakishly gorgeous people for PBs most of the time, and people with character to their faces and bodies are infinitely more relatable and appealing. ♥

I think that my censor shifts to off after a certain point at night and instead of being articulate, I'm blunt. I agree with your normal statement. But what I'm saying is that comparative to the Ashley Simpson or Kate Beckinsale that usually be cast as the role, Kathy is a totally different flavor. I shouldn't have called her fat and unappealing. I'd delete my comment, but yours would be messed up and whatnot. She's great as this role and I'm glad that someone decided to use her for that character. And especially here. Because a lot of people use ~rp_tutorials now and maybe will get the hint.

Sorry. <3 Mah censor iz broken.

Oh I'm not offended! I just think KBates is the shizz, and is good at all that she does. ;)

Ew, who the hell uses Kate Beckinsale as a Carrow? >.

Okay. D: I was worried. I really didn't mean it the way it came out.

And I can't remember. But I've seen it happen.

I've got a stash of rockin' older ladies, beautiful and less so, and fully plan to further this collection, as I'mma icon Yaya Sisterhood and Calendar Girls one of these days. :D

Just for aesthetic purposes, and especially if you're using this in game, I thought you might like to know that you have Hannah Abbott as a "nail bitter" as opposed to a "nail biter," which makes infinitely more sense.

I love this code so much but I'm having some trouble with it. I posted an example of what I'm getting here (along with the code I'm using in a textbox): http://28-ginny.insanejournal.com/2800.html

Ideally, I'd like to have three characters across and have all the colored lines show up in the same places every time (i.e., straight down, not staggered by the text pushing it out of wack.)

Any help would be every so appreciated. I've looked at it so much, I can't see straight. :(

Try setting the widths even and see if that helps any.

I am not authorized to view that protected entry. ;_;

There was an extra few table tags in the original code that I found while looking into your problem which have since been removed. That might have been the problem. Also, as ~chaperoned said, setting the widths of the cells and tables will help.

In addition, since you want to alter it to be three-across, I'd suggest either making the images small or moving the text to be under the image instead of next to it. I've mocked up examples of both for you here. Both those codes have fixed widths and either one should work. Let me know if they don't.

Oops! Sorry, I just reset it to public again. I was mucking about with the code and had it to private so as not to make anyone blind. :)

I can't see the examples you mocked up. :(

I am using smaller images (100x100) versions than seen in the original code but the lines move all over the place. :(

Whoops, I also forgot to take it off fidling-with mode. -_-

I made one using the 100x100 size images. The new code should work for you.

Your comment page is messing up a little. I think it might be a DIV issue. And like I've already said: I love this character list.

It might be your browser? I'm currently using IE and it's usually fine in Firefox.

Yeah, I'm using firefox. And I went through and couldn't find any open tags that might be screwing up the alignment of the rest of the page, so I've no idea what's causing it.
