free .mv4 to .mp4 converters?
bit of a long shot here, but I figured I’d risk asking anyway and see if any cappers out there might be able to help! I have one movie in .mv4 format that I need to convert to .mp4 to screencap. the movie is, of course, from iTunes and thus needs the DRM removed. aside from paying $50 for a program to remove the DRM and convert the file format for one movie that cost me $8, what are my options? can anyone recommend a free converter?

	I've managed to convert things from pretty much any format into MP4 thanks to VLC. VLC if you can open it there lets you convert files to anything else. I think the one hiccup is it doesn't always sync up the sound correctly, so it's worked for me since I do it for capping and not for sound, but I'm sure there's a way to do that. i tried that! unfortunately i think the fairplay thing apple has for all of its products prevented it from converting, because i got...a black screen for an hour and fifty-six minutes, lol. i ended up just finding it on hulu and using

aeris's amazing tool to cap it from there, so all's well that ends well i suppose, but...that won't stop me from being salty about apple. but thank you for the suggestion!! you've all been so lovely and beyond helpful to me and i really appreciate it. ♥
