Me again. What messaging/texting apps do you use for mobile? Can you sign up via email? I know of GroupMe. Any others worth trying, or is this one the best? Also, does AIM have a mobile app? It claims it does but I can't find it in the iOS app store.

I use Trillian on my phone. It includes AIM and pretty much any other messenger I might need.

For messenger/texting there's Viber and WhatsApp. Viber has a desktop app as well so that should allow you to sign up via email?

AIM app is only available in the US from what I understand.

Ahh thank you, I'm not in the US so that makes sense!

i use telegram and whatsapp. they both require your phone number, but telegram also has a desktop version that will carry over your messages from the mobile app!

I've been using Line a lot lately. Like AIM and Viber (as mentioned below) it has both a mobile app and a desktop version. It's very much a newer type of AIM. I know a lot of people who use Google Hangouts too.
