Guidance?
Hello [info]rp_tutorials! I have some questions for you all and hopefully I will be able to find some help. I have been wanting to create a new Harry Potter RPG for awhile now for original characters, whether still in school or out of; whatever is the most needed. I miss HP rp a whole lot and I'd like to revisit it. It has been a long time since I have done the "old school" community thing. I would like to create a place for good writers, dedicated players and people that would like to develop characters and original ideas in the Harry Potter universe. I know how to make a community look nice HTML and graphic wise and how to help members with that sort of thing, but it's been so long since I have done it or joined a place, that I am not sure where to begin. What are the writing requirements like now? How do you find people to join your games if you don't know anyone on this side of Insanejournal if you don't know anyone ooc? Any tips, help or love or willingness to team up would be great! I am also sorry if this is not the proper place for this.

it is tough getting a game off from the ground with no ooc ties but it is possible. patience is definitely key. as far as writing examples, most people go with threads and journal entries (1st person or narratives). i'd suggest looking at the games on ~pbads or ~wanna_rp to get ideas.

Thank you! I was looking to move away from the pbads technique that most of their communities seem to have these days and go more old school, but wanna_rp looks fitting. Thank you, again!

You make advertisements and post them in every community for rpg adverts you can find :-) I'll be honest and say I tend to find communities to post adverts in by looking at the communities the mod journals of other games are members of!

I'll do that, thank you.

Mod Cooperative might be a useful tool for you to look through, too: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/modcooperative/profile
