Group Chat Alternatives
It's been my experience that the AIM chats are notoriously unreliable (invites don't always work, the chat suddenly doesn't work, etc.). As RPers, I think we've all been in that situation at least once or twice and it's frustrating. Plus, not all RPers use AIM (at least that has been my experience as well).

Currently, my comm is using Chatzy since my co-mod and I can't seem to get IRC to work for us correctly. However, the downside of Chatzy is having to pay for the extra perks I'd like to use for our monthly events and while I like to RP, I don't like it that much. ;) It's not a worthwhile investment for something that might not last 6 months to a year, and then there's the whole, I'm-Unemployed-And-Can't-Afford-It-Anyway situation.

So... I'm curious to know if anyone has any suggestions for group chat alternatives that is like Chatzy/IRC?

Not sure if it's any better than chatzy for your purposes, but there's always chatango.com
