Bwaha, it took me some tweaking, but I think I figured it out for you!

Okayokay, first thing you need to do find the #pagebody element and change it to this:

The 0.4 is the level of opacity. 0.1 would be almost totally transparent, 0.9 would be almost totally opaque.

Then you need to go through and find every element after that with the background-color: #CCCCCC line and just outright remove that.

So your .module one, for instance, would look like:

Basically any areas you want the background transparent, remove the background-color line, and that should work for you.
