I know I've asked this before but I can't seem to find it again.  Is there a way to change the setting in an Asylum so that the posts are automatically F-Locked?

I just looked through the settings and the FAQ (quickly, mind, so my information may be incorrect), but I don't think there is a way.

From the FAQ:
At this time, there is no way to change the security level of your entire journal with one command. Instructions on how you can make your journal Friends-Only or Private can be found at http://www.insanejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=32 .
Again, though, this might be inaccurate, so don't be too surprised if there is a way. On that note, if I am wrong I'd love to know how to do that as well.

There definitely is a way because a game I'm in has their OOC community set up that way. I just don't know how to do it and I figured I would ask here first before bothering them lol.

I'll be honest: I'm really relieved that I'm wrong lmao. I really hope someone gets back to you with the right answer!

Lol! It's okay. If no one knows here, I'll ask and let you know!

And good luck with your game btw! I would, but I just inherited a game myself lol.

Yes, there is:

http://www.insanejournal.com/admin/console/

type set newpost_minsecurity friends, and hit "execute". If you want to reverse the process, it's set newpost_minsecurity public.

Here's a handy website for /console commands: http://wiki.noljads.com/Console_Commands

Can you explain exactly how to use it? I'm not familiar with the admin console at all.

You click on the link and just copy and paste the italicized text in! Or do you mean overall?

Well, because I only want to use it for the OOC community, so how do I know that it'll only affect that one community and not the mod journal?

Oh, I see. You're absolutely right, I'm sorry, that would affect whatever journal you're logged into. It's been awhile since I had to do it for a community. In that case, you type set for communityname newpost_minsecurity friends .

Turns out it's buried in IJ's FAQ too, here you are, for future reference!
