Hey there!

I have a fledgling icon community over at

rawrcons and I am running into a problem: screencaps. So far I've been able to find fansites that have PB specific caps, but as I start looking for less 'A-list' celebrities, they don't tend to have fansites and, if they do, they are not current or do not have HQ caps. I use ~dj_capslock over on LiveJournal a lot, but if I can't find caps there then I'm pretty much out of luck.

So, my question is this: what are other good sources for caps? What do you guys use? I use Zimbio a lot, but I prefer not to icons photoshoots and appearances because the expressions tend to be monotonous. Is there anywhere on IJ that archives caps or takes requests for caps? (I've long since accepted the fact that I really will never be good at capping :|)

Any suggestions? Thanks!

	Sometimes, there are livejournal communities and tumblrs devoted to them (and you can possibly use frames of gifs). Also try looking for works they're in and googling that + screencaps. Livejournal has a lot of great screencapping communities but I don't know much about them! (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Using individual frames of a gif is a completely a genius way to do it. When I icon from a music video/trailer/short video, I download the video and open it directly in photoshop. No capping, just boom! You have a lot more control and more viable frames. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Google + screencaps is what I typically do, but I hadn't thought about checking tumblr! For some reason, I thought that would just be like...one screencap edit on a post or something. ANYWAY checking that out, thanks! (Reply to this) (Parent)

	I get a lot of mine from Lady Manson, but Manson advertises everything on Capslock. Home of the Nutty is also a great resource. If I can't find what I'm looking for, I use FRAPS to capture from Netflix/Hulu/Youtube HD. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Here is a discussion on DJ_Caps that might help. Here is a top ten of clever capturing programs for Mac. However, I haven't tried any of these, and can't verify a secure download or personally recommend one. But it's a jumping point for you. Oh, thanks! And I will check out the programs...if any are particularly good, I'll report back XD

Right now, I really wanted to do some Lucy Punch sets. I just watched Bad Teacher and she makes ridiculously wonderful expressions, but there is only one set of her, currently, on wikicon. I'm also waiting for This Means War caps (which I figure will be on DJ soon enough :D) for Chris Pine, and Kate Mara in happythankyoumoreplease.
