Does anyone know the codes for placing words over an image? I know it would be easy to do with photoshop but I've seen it done without it. I don't have any examples so I hope this makes sense.

Hi! Do you have any specifics? Like what kind of image you're using, the text you want to put over it, what you're planning on using it for, etc?

SOMETHING TEXTUAL GOES HERE.
Alright, I hope that shows up correctly because I never know if style tags work in comments, but anyway. I hope that was what you're looking for! The trick behind putting text over an image is setting that image up as the background, and when you do that you need to define the height and width of it. Here's the coding for it, make sure you edit the height and width parameters to match your image.
Using style tags:
<div style="background: url(http://i41.tinypic.com/2nk19bs.png); padding: 5px; width: 284px; height: 235px; text-align: center; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; color: #222222;">SOMETHING TEXTUAL GOES HERE.</div>
Using tables:
<table align="" background="http://i41.tinypic.com/2nk19bs.png" width="294" height="235" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td align="center" valign="top"><font face="arial" size="1" color="#222222">SOMETHING TEXTUAL GOES HERE.</font></td> </tr></table>
