Custom Posts
This is going to make me sound like I'm new to roleplaying but what are customs? I see a lot of roleplayers asking for them and I had someone ask me for one, but I'm not sure what to do. Could someone give me an example and/or explain what a custom is?

When you make a journal post, the drop down list of public/friends/private also contains the option for a custom. It means you can choose that option and make the post visible only to a person or people who are friended to that journal. You then rp through comments in that post.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. :) Is it supposed to be like a thread or just a random post?

It's whatever you agree on, I'd guess. I've never used one either, but I think most people use them as private story lines.

Thank you. I think I got the set up down, now I just don't know what I'm supposed to say! Haha.

You can use your customs, from what I've seen, to discuss storyline posts, pretend you're doing an AIM chat, or scene/thread. It's up to you and whoever it's filtered to how you want to use it!

some people don't enjoy going on aim but still like the one on one conversations that you can have without anyone else seeing them. what i do is set up a custom on like 4/5/2006 for just characters commenting and another on 5/6/07 for threads in order to keep them separated and still orderly.
