VLC Screencapping [Solved]
I've seen a few questions on how to screencap videos posted here. I even viewed this tutorial and downloaded an older version of VLC in order to complete the tutorial. However, I'm still stuck when it comes to changing the "Video output module" to "Image video output." Even though I downloaded an older version (1.0.0) I don't have that option. I'm trying to screencap a few music videos in order to make icons, so any help here would be appreciated.

BIG THANKS TO ckletricity! Finally got an even older version of VLC to work with screencapping.

	I've never used VLC for capping and minimally (several years ago) as video playback software so I can't help you, there, but I do recommend trying out KMPlayer because I've used that one and it works pretty well. Personally, I use Frameshots 3, but you'd have to pay for that. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Well, apparently I'm not getting comment notifications anymore, but thank you for your feedback. I've read a little bit about KMPlayer here, but I don't think I've found any such tutorial on it. I imagine it won't be too hard to find, so I'll definitely be looking into that today.

Also, I'd like to thank you for solving the majority of my "problems" here as of late. It's always such a delight to receive your help and/or advice.

	I know I used 0.9.9 on my Mac, but I can't for the life of me remember where I downloaded it from, I'm afraid to say. But poking around on the VLC website, it looks like there's a whole list of older versions here (assuming you're using Windows). (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I have VLC set for me to watch a video and press F5 every time I want to screencap something. It's very simple and I can hold down F5 in the VLC app for a series of screencaps to make a gif or a sequence of pictures! I'd be happy to help you if you'd like! (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Absolutely! There are times during a movie that I just wanna cap a few scenes, so instructions on how to do that would be definitely appreciated. I'm sure others would appreciate it too if you just post it as a tutorial here. :) (Reply to this) (Parent)
