Soooo... you want to use this character profile, well who can blame you, look at that GQ profile right there, I want to have its babies let alone use it for my characters. But you've come to a bit of a problem, that awesome gif that's just perfect for the right corner? It's so not the right size. You suppose you could put a picture there instead but it's just not quite as snazzy. Isn't there some way you can crop your gif in photoshop, that has to exist right? Of course it does. I'm using CS3 here but I'm sure it's basically the same steps for other versions, it might just take a bit of tweaking. OPEN YOUR GIF »»» File »»» Import »»» Video Frames to Layers (if you just open the gif as an image it's going to flatten it to the top video layer, this way opens the gif as a series of layers) »»» You're only going to have the option here for QuickTimeMovie so once you're in the right folder type *.* into the file name and hit enter and you should be able to see your gif file now. »»» Make sure from beginning to end is selected as well as make frame animation, hit load CROP YOUR GIF »»» The fun little crop tool on your toolbar »»» enter 220px for width 100 px for height (or whatever size you want, that's the size for the gif in this profile) »»» center your cropping as wanted and crop! SAVE YOUR GIF »»» File »»» Save for Web & Devices »»» Make sure looping options is set to forever »»» SUCCESS! |
