This is a really easy way for players to get themselves into an already on-going chat, so that mods don't have to continuously invite players, do lots of extra work, etc.
This guide is used on AIM 7.5, but I'm sure it's really similar to other versions of AIM.
STEP 1: Click to highlight your screenname on your Buddy List.
→ If you don't already have your own screenname added, it will be very helpful/a shortcut to do so.
→ Click on your screenname on your buddy list to highlight it.
It should look like this:
STEP 2: Click MENU --> New Group Chat...
→ At the top, click on the drop down menu, appropriately entitled "MENU". Second from the top should be the option "New Group Chat..."
→ Click "New Group Chat..."
It should look like this:
STEP 3: Chat Invitation
→ After clicking "New Group Chat...", the chat invitation prompt should pop up. Since in Step 1, you clicked to highlight your screenname, in the first box for "Usernames to Invite", your screenname should already be included.
→ In the second box for "Chat Room" name, there should be something that reads "chat429348209842" (or whatever bunch of numbers). You should delete this and type in the chat's name.
→ Click "send"
This step should look like this:
After clicking send, you obviously receive your chat invite.
