Find and replace text. Notepad: What the hell can't it do.
(a.k.a the simplest, shortest tutorial ever)

When you need to paste logs from AIM, replace a TON of hex codes, or otherwise who you gonna call? NOTEPAD. Because you can find and replace text. Yeah, this/ this program.

	You can also clear out your friends list with it too if you leave a game with a lot of members. I learned a very simple way to do it with REPLACE. Thank you Notepad, thank you. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Weelll. If you do like I do and have "also friend of ... " on your friends page (and the list gets massively long when people leave and don't remove you) here's what I do to ban_set a massive list and remove them.

1. Copy and paste the whole list into notepad.
2. Put a (comma+space) before the first username.
3. Edit, replace.
     - Find What: , (comma)
     - Replace With: <*br>ban_set (with a space at the end. This is important. And minus the * obviously.)
4. Save as .html file. Remember where you save.
5. Find .html & open in IE or Firefox or whatever.
     - Should look like this.
6. Copy & Paste into Admin Console.
7. Voila!

	Also if you leave the 'replace' part blank, you can just delete all mentions of whatever is in the 'find' section. Useful for mass deletion, obvs. (Reply to this)

	You know, I hate to say this, but... I HATE seeing scene logs with character names/journals in a script-like format. It kills the flow to me. I guess I'm just old school and prefer my third-person past-tense storybook format to read as a third-person past-tense story. (Reply to this)

	Notepad is actually used for editing code, however, and you can save code in it. In Word, I've found in the past that it'll fuck your code up by automatically turning it into other shit. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	I've done this for colour-coded logs too. Replace each SN with </font> if memory serves, anyways. (Reply to this)
