Just a few pet peeves:
1. Mods who don't play: We've all been in games where the worst person about tagging was the mod. I really thing if you don't have time to dedicate to playing, it almost always shows in your modding as well. When mods don't make activity check, it's just a bad sign.
2. Mods who just say no: This might be a personal pet peeve, but I hate mods who refuse to work with someone. I mod several games myself, and one of my big rules is if a player comes to me with a plot idea, I am not going to just say no. I will always offer options for improving the plot, or find a way to come to some sort of compromise with the player.
3. Mods who play favorites: We are all guilty of this, but I have seen more games tank because a mod lets one player get away with murder and is harsh on others unfairly.
4. Mods who don't keep players happy: While I understand you can't keep EVERYONE happy, if you can't keep a majority of your players happy, you won't have a game. Sometimes it means giving up your own plots, and sometimes it means the game might take a form you didn't expect, but RPing, while to most of us is serious business, is a game, and is meant to be fun.
