Oh Rhydin... That's where I got my start too. I almost miss it. Almost. Then I moved on to forum-based games on AOL for kids (I was 12, I got in trouble, my parents punished me by limiting me to the kids' area, it turned out to be one of the best things to ever happen to me). Those were wonderful--Blackberry Castle and all its incarnations. After that there were other forums, including a Harry Potter/White Wolf crossover games. And then there was GreatestJournal, lots of Harry Potter games, some original games, and then it died and I moved to IJ. I never got into RPing on LJ, first because I didn't want to sign out of my main journal, then because of Strikethrough and related incidents. And now there's Inksome too!
I don't really do AIM often these days, though if I do it's for RP-related purposes. I still feel kind of old-fashioned sometimes, since it seems like new trends just pass me by! I don't like journals as much as plain interaction, and I miss the good old days of forums when characters would just interact without any behind-the-scenes plotting from their muns. Also, I miss using the word "mun."
