Tough one. I guess in my case, I try my hardest to use my OWN things, and go against the canon of things. I try to go with a character and let them come to me without thinking of the characters theyve played or celeb. I have done the cliche of making a character closely related to the job of a celeb they have on a show or what have you, but I change other things revolving their lives. Both in life and in character. As of now, I have a character I have had MANY complments on because they are so differently played and done differently than any others have seen. She is not at all related to the celeb. And what made it funny, is something she said actually came about in her real celeb life that my character had brought about, but I didnt know until AFTER my character brought it up which gave me a surprise. I dont know her personally but from what Ive seen, I think theyre different, but who am I to say? But I dont take things like that to heart. I will say Im not AGAINST those that add in things from their characters celeb or other characters as long as it doesnt rotate and revolve around the whole aspects of it. Otherwise how is it even your own imagination and creativity then?
