[Love is in the air. It's an urge, able to be denied if one tries hard enough, affecting the hotel occupants at varying degrees to find someone special. It could be the person they desire the most, or simply someone of their sexual preference to spend the day with. But as love is not limited to romantic love, neither is this wish, and others may find themselves seeking out those special someone's that they love: a parent, a child, a brother, a sister, a best friend, a mentor, a student.

But like Cinderella's slipper, the urge only lasts until midnight. Connection beyond that rests solely on the wills of those involved.]

[The wish granter tries really, really hard to get this right. Because he cares. It comes in parts, the wish, throughout the course of the day:

1) At six o'clock on Valentine's Day, a man shows up on Aubrey's doorstep. Handsome, nice, good, and a non-drinker, he's there to whisk the lucky recipient off for a night of romance. How the night goes is entirely up to the pair.

2) In early morning hours, two letters appear in Mingmei's mailbox. One is from her sister, XiaoXing, and the other is from her brother, Anguo. The letters are lengthy, full of detail, and pictures are enclosed.

3) For Stark, Viserion, and Grayson (who the granter correctly assumes are pets), it's more subtle. They're healthy and given an extended lifespan... a little longer than requested. By, say, fifty years. Oops. The only indication is a shine in their eyes that indicates good health.

4) Lastly, a new wardrobe literally appears in Kitane's home just after midnight. In the middle of the room. But, at least, it is filled with new clothes and accessories fitting of her tastes.]

Hello? Do you want something?

[She was excited for her old friend and excited to see her, too. Kitane was a close friend of hers, one that she knew could never be replaced. She was very happy for her that things were looking up and she was out of that horrible city called Gotham. Granted, Gotham had its own characteristics and everything. She at least had Metropolis to fall back to when necessary and for work, too.

Following Kitane's instructions, Mingmei crossed through to the Gatsby Door, following the directions completely. She anxiously knocked on Kitane's door, dressed simply in slacks and a simple blouse. Kitane had told her it was a bit of an older place and Mingmei didn't want to look too out of date or strange in this new world.]

Shit, nobody said that getting out of the world into this creepy hotel was going to be hard. Ugh, monsters, I'm a airship pilot and gambler, not an adventurer.

But, surprise, it's life, everything's hard. Anything worth doing anyway.
