Re: Ocean's: Ash & Sam
Ash wasn't wrong about life being complicated, yeah? And the complications came, whether you liked them or not. Maybe Ash was right to just ignore the Alexander thing. If the man was here, he'd show his face. If he was going to be a problem, they'd know about it soon enough, yeah? She wasn't sure she could handle any problems right now, and maybe she was too willing an ostrich, head in the sand or whatever, but she didn't push.
She nudged away her empty drink, and she smiled at Ash's suggestion of going shopping for something pretty. She didn't have the money to do that, and she knew Ash was being nice or whatever. Sam's smile was warm, because she had missed the other girl, yeah? Ash might have been Lou and Neil's sister, but in a way she'd become family, and family was a thing through a sieve lately.
She squeezed Ash's hand over the table. "Once I get my first paycheck, yeah?" She tried to say it proud. "Friday, ok?" She could get something by Friday. "We can do the shopping thing, and I can pay for lunch."
Yeah, so it might never happen, but it was kind of nice to offer or whatever.
