Another sip before the last of the coffee was drained, and she pushed the cup to the side. "Time's different, it seems. Casey was back home with me for the longest time. Watched over Matthew, helped at the pub when he wasn't doing the acting thing. He was real good, though, and I hope he doesn't end up here again. That's the last thing he needs right now, I think."
Nosing was one of those things she was good at, and she didn't have that many female friends nowadays, at least none that knew her before the baby. "I kind of figured they'd still be a thing. Just have to watch myself best I can. But I'm glad you met someone good. You deserve it, someone good. But I'll hold onto the invitations for now."
She pushed the cup around for a few moments then gave another shrug. "I'm just anxious that he's still here. That he's going to try and get in contact. Maybe I should hire someone, see what they can figure out for me."
