Re: Ocean's: Ash & Sam
"Everything is far in Vegas, baby." Which was true. It was one of the reasons Sam liked the city, yeah? The scale of everything was fucked up, and it wasn't the kind of thing you could tell from pictures. Everything was like a mile from everything else, and everything was fucking huge, and it made other shit seem small and inconsequential. Sometimes she liked that, yeah? Feeling small, because nothing bad happened to shit that went unnoticed.
The ice cube melted, and she plucked another one out of the soda as she looked at the pictures of the little boy on the phone. And Sam wasn't a fucking idiot or anything; she remembered who Matthew's dad was, and she remembered just how fucking betrayed she'd felt by Ash's shit with the people who'd tried to kill her and Neil, but Sam sucked at grudges. Too much time had passed to still be pissed, and she sat back and nudged the menu away after the pictures ran there course. "He's cute, yeah? This door isn't so bad, baby. None of the big fucked up shit here, so just keep to Vegas and he should be safe and healthy and all that. Both of you should."
