Re: log: Tony's Super Secret Facility
Scanning. Before answering any questions about the amount of shards or how bad the injuries were, it was the prospect of scanning that he obviously considered carefully before responding to. Scanning would undoubtedly mean some kind of permanent record, which was anathema to the Soldier. Still, yet again, they could just as easily have analyzed him while he was unconscious if they wanted that information, and it might be valuable if it was a real offer. He had dug one tracker out shortly after arriving at the facility in France, and hadn't been able to find another. Still, it gnawed at him, that that there might still be another one. He didn't have enough of the original file to find out for sure. His DNA was all over the bed now anyway.
"Five to six," he said. It was almost unaccented, though there was still a hint of Brooklyn in it, a linguistic tic with an eerie lack of root. "The systems can scan. If they identify any foreign bodies aside from bullet shards, I want to know about it."
At the request for access to the wound, he slid forward toward the edge of the bed, and leaned forward to disengage a hidden buckle behind his knee. The plate over the top of his thigh slid to the floor. Then he began methodically tearing a wide enough hole in the fabric beneath for easy access.
There was no modesty about it whatsoever. The ease with which it was done implied a practiced lack of concern for whatever came next, and a comfort with following doctor's orders now that he'd agreed to be examined. It went well beyond doctor-patient etiquette. "The arm will heal faster once the leg can. Infusion isn't necessary," he said. His body would do just fine supplying the blood if the offending shards could be removed. "Some food, maybe," he added, with reluctance. Based on his other assessments, the odds were good that they wouldn't drug it. Good, not great. But he needed to eat something, or his body wouldn't be creating much more blood at all.
Banner didn't seem concerned that the situation could escalate in a way that would trigger the weapon he carried in him, which was interesting. Self-control or stupidity - or trust he had nothing to fear from the Soldier? That really would be stupid.
He looked over Banner's shoulder at Stark. "You destroyed the servers," he said. An expectation, not a question.
