Re: quicklog: jason t/gwen s
Are you arguing semantics with me, Jason Todd? [Her grin said she knew he kind of was. But she was grinning, and that was kind of good, right?] You totally have no faith in me. Neither does Hels. Flash does a little, and Peter does a little. But generally speaking, the amount of confidence everyone has in me not to get myself killed is nil. That isn't how it works. I don't just die to die, so you don't need to worry about that. If a mugger kills me, it would provide absolutely no opportunity for growth for anyone. [Which was a skewed way to look at it, but part of her dealing with her imminent (and past) death was to rationalize it. She died so that things could be better for other people, and that made it kind of less terrible somehow.] I messed it up. Harry yelled at me, and he was right. I nearly killed him. And Hels pointed out all the scientific process I didn't follow. Maybe I'm distracted. I don't know, but I shouldn't be doing anything scientific with practical application.
[He grumbled, and she smiled a little more. Sure, she was still kind of angry, and she was still upset about the fact that he'd gone for Mary Jane - just like everyone else - but she liked Jason, and Silent Hill made grudges feel silly.] Hels is from your door. [Which totally didn't give away secrets or anything.] She's thinking about your membership card, hero. I think we want to do a cross-door thing. [As for her abilities, she rolled her eyes when he called them superpowers again.] They aren't superpowers. That makes it sound weird. It's just a mutation. Not like the natural mutants. It's a forced mutation, caused by introduction of a foreign substance.
[But, okay, displays. She didn't roll up her sleeve or anything; she didn't need to anymore, because she'd gotten pretty good with the old wrist-flick. She figured a little webbing was a better demonstration than like lifting him over her head or something, which she could totally do - she thought. She hadn't practiced that, but she'd seen Peter lift a car. Right, so webs.
She stood, and she looked down the open center of the stairs, where they turned and turned. They were seven floors up, and she climbed up onto the bannister and then, with a smile back at him, she let herself drop straight down.]
