Re: quicklog: jason t/gwen s
[She laughed when he said there were plenty of heroes around to take care of Carnage. It wasn't a very nice laugh. It wasn't a very young laugh, either. It was disappointed and a little bitter, and she missed all the interplay with the tip money as a result of it. Ruminating, and she was quiet about it until the were outside, where the sun gave a false sense of harmlessness to absolutely everything.] You're kidding, right? I gave it to the heroes. I let your dad and the Avengers handle it. I told them how important it was. I told them the suit needed regular maintenance to maintain containment. I told them, and they wouldn't let me ensure the seals weren't going bad, or that Carnage wasn't working his way out. [Her hands were on her hips, and she was high color, red cheeks amid all that blonde.] Do you know where Mr. Stark was keeping it? In some storage room. On a shelf! [Her hands flapped, up from her sides and back down to loudly slap against her outer thighs.] There aren't plenty of heroes who can take care of it! The last time I had it, no one wanted the responsibility. This time, they were just lazy.
[He jammed his key into the lock, and she walked through into the hallway, still riding that exhaustion and anger when she turned to look at him.] I told Flash, and I told Peter. I hadn't confirmed that Carnage was loose at the time, but I suspected. Flash wants to deal with it once he's home and out of recovery. [She didn't add that the timeframe on that might be too long. Now that Flash was out of danger, she was going to go looking for the symbiote every night. It would be easier this time, with the suit and her abilities, though she had absolutely no plans yet for what she'd do when she found it. She didn't have a containment unit, and she didn't currently have a lab.
He was talking about Mary Jane, and she rubbed at her temple.] I can't let myself care about Mary Jane. She isn't going to change right now, and there's nothing I can say to make anyone understand how she is. The boys look at her, and they just see this perfect girl, Jason. Saying anything against her makes me the villain, and it puts them in the unenviable position of defending her to me. [She sighed, and she moved to the stairs and the landing, where she sat on the top step. It wasn't a display of abilities, which she knew was the point, but she was tired.]
