Re: Hotel -> Lost: Jules & Kitane
[Phones? Seriously? Her notifications were all sound clips of various wrestlers yelling about things, not this annoying buzzing.] Maybe? [There was still a moment of hesitation about moving her foot. Even if there wasn't a physical mine there, the imaginary one was still terrifying enough. Well, no explosion so it should have been safe to go check on her phone. Sure enough the beeping got louder as she got closer to her bag, but Kitane's whoop lead her back over to the tree line. That's where the noise was coming from, too. What the hell was going on?
And what the hell was she going to do with Kitane's phone?! The same basic strategy as was just used by her brilliant cohort. Press all the buttons! There was a timer counting down, giving them about a minute and a half until whatever was going to happen would. Maybe if they just waited it out the alarm would stop? A quick sprint through the sand to where Jules had dropped her bag lead her to discover that the same thing was happening on her phone.
Fuck, that beeping was annoying.]
What the hell? [She compared the two screens, identical timers and completely unable to get out of no matter what buttons were pressed.] This is stupid! [Her fingers grew more frantic until she managed to find that tiny blinking message. The Island guardian tried to make things easy for people, but these girls weren't exactly normal. The message popped up, 4 8 15 16 23 42. Wait. What?
Those numbers? For real? No...
Jules tapped them in, and sure enough the timer flipped all the way back to 108 and the beeping stopped. The puzzle pieces started to fall into place. It was a slow realization, looking back at the plane, then to the camp, then to the phones.] I- I think we're on The Island. [Words soft, disbelief laced with wonder as she shook her head. Why didn't she pay more attention when she watched TV? Because she never thought she'd be there! The phone was handed back to Kitane.] Like, ninety-five percent sure.
