Re: Hotel -> Lost: Jules & Kitane
Not always. [Stated simply, sometimes the door in wasn't the door out. The door she'd taken to get into Gotham had opened at the end of the hallway for Aubrey's apartment, her door out into the hotel was the pantry door.] Sometimes they aren't even in the same area. one is here and the other one is way over there, but sometimes they are. [She rambled.]
And yes, knives, then bags. [They needed to have their hands free in case they had to defend themselves and the things in their bags were replaceable; they weren't.
She turned at the panic, at the mention of a mine. Mines were booms, big booms, and missing feet and legs and blood everywhere and tears and 'Are they going to live?' Her phone was making noise and it was one of those things she just couldn't deal with at that minute. Kitane yanked it out of her pocket and threw it into the leaves as she knelt down, fingers pressed into the earth just around the sole of Jules shoes, no fear at all and met only dirt. Dirt and more dirt. Nothing hard, except for a twig that she yanked out from under Jules' foot.]
No mine. Only this. [The broken twig was held up - what kind of beach was this where there might have been mines? She'd grown up near the water, and maybe that was a good place to put them but she'd only seen them in the city where it was terrible. She picked up her stick again and took Jules' hand resolutely.] We're getting out of here. Through zombies and booms if we have to. Stay close. If anything moves, hit it. [Thwack first, questions later. She might be on the light side of pint sized, but she was a Tigger made of razor claws and sheer willpower.
