Re: Marvel hospital: Gwen & Peter
"I'm statistically always in the right." Her smile was brighter now, and she wasn't as much of an optimist as he was. But she thought holding onto hope was important, even if she forgot sometimes lately. It was easier to remember with him around, and it was easier to remember why it mattered. It was easy to hope and be optimistic when things were good, but it was more important to hold onto that when things were bad; she thought this counted. For Flash, especially, even though she knew it would be a really steep mountain to climb. "You should see him when he's awake," she said, her thoughts leading her there before the words were even out of his mouth. "Coming back from something bad, you did that. You can help him," she suggested. Maybe he would argue with her considering herself a bad thing, but dying was kind of bad, and even he couldn't argue that. "I'll let you know once he's awake," she promised, "and you can get me that corroboration in writing."
The confusion on his face almost made her sorry she'd asked the question, and her cheeky flushed bright as a result. She shook her head, blonde hair messily sliding over her shoulders. "Just answer the question," she said, stammering and not answering his question. Then he replied, and she smiled a wobbly smile and nodded a jerky little nod. "Okay." Her expression said she wanted to believe him, but she was wary; it showed. "Going now." She smiled. "Right, going," and she pushed through the double doors, and she refused to let herself look back.
