Re: Marvel hospital: Gwen & Peter
"It doesn't put you in the right either," he countered, without missing a beat. Peter didn't always find it easy to be optimistic, and sometimes he gave in to the weight of bad things, loss and pain, but he kept going. He regained his footing. Besides, if he could keep on living after losing Gwen then he was pretty sure he could keep living through just about anything-- though, admittedly, he'd done it for her. For her memory. But that was in the past, and he was maybe a little obsessed with keeping her alive this time around. That wasn't the only reason he didn't want her to cut him out of her life; she was such a big part of his that he wouldn't be able to take it. He couldn't keep his distance, that had been proven time and time again.
Underestimating Harry was something he would never, ever do. It was too dangerous, too risky, and he knew firsthand what he could be capable of. "I have solid corroboration. I'll get it to you in writing." Yeah, no, he didn't really get that she was giving him permission to be with MJ-- he knew she'd said it was okay, but he thought it'd been established that wasn't what he wanted. And, anyway, it didn't matter. MJ knew how he felt about Gwen, he'd tell her that they talked it out. "Okay," he said, standing when she did. "I'll come back later, but let me know when he wakes up? I want to see him." For now, though, he should probably take MJ home. And maybe get some sleep, even though he didn't like the thought of Gwen being alone. But he'd be back. Definitely.
He was going to watch her go, but then she turned back and asked him if he was going to stop talking to her, or not stop talking to her, and he was totally confused. "Why would I stop talking to you?" Bewildered, and Peter shook his head. "No way. You can't get rid of me that easily, Gwen Stacy."
