Re: Louis' apartment: Iris, Sam, Cris
[Iris couldn't remember seeing Sam this awkwardly fidgety. Not that they had ever spent an overwhelming time together, but she always thought of Sam as strong and steady, even after... everything. She should have known better - even then, when her own mind sometimes got twisted around, she should have known better. So at the offer of help, Iris just shook her head and gave Sam as much of a smile as she could manage.] You've done more than I could have hoped for already. Helping us get this far. [Another pause, and then awkwardly.] And thank you for coming when I asked. I know you didn't have to. I... wish there was something I could do for you. [And whatever Sam was obviously dealing with. But it didn't escape her notice either, that what she was dealing with might actually be Iris. So she didn't say anything more than that about it.
Would Ra's stop? Iris shook her head.] I don't think so. I... get the impression that he's not the type to stop when he has his sights set on something. I'll... have to figure something out for us.
[And then Cris was coming down the stairs, preceded by TJ's stompy 6 year-old feet on the stairs, and Iris was pushing aside the worry that had been on her face when it was just Sam to see. With her son there again, she was smiles for him, listening to him talk about the 'floating bed'. It was apparently 'so cool', and he giggled at Cris talking about it floating away. He was very serious when he shook the man's hand again, but then shifted into another grin again, for both Cris and Sam, before going over to stand next to Iris, hug both his arms around her hips as the adults finished talking.
Iris only nodded at the 'orders' from Cris (because they weren't delivered with enough warmth to be much of anything else).] I'll take care of it. Thank you for helping us. For the food. If you'd like me to pay you back for it, just let me know how much it was. [Though she had a suspicion that he'd refuse. He looked about ready to jump out of his skin in the desire to get out of there - almost as much as Sam. So she simply gave them both another small, awkward smile. The type that you give when there's nothing much left to say.]
