Re: Roxbury Crossing - Spider/Bat/Cat/Hulk
[The Bat's goal was to get between the ship and civilians. They'd already taken some prisoners aboard, but he intended to cut the flow and give those still on the ground a chance to flee to safety. He was aware of Loki's presence, of course, and that glimpse of his target sparked his sudden disappearance. Maybe he just wasn't in the mood for team spirit, or maybe his tactic was stealth and that didn't quite mesh with a green giant and a human spider. Whatever the reason, that brief glance, that notice, was all the others got of him before he seemed to melt into the surrounding buildings. Though, one might notice that the screams and cries from within became markedly less human.
The odds were overwhelming, but he drove the aliens back, out onto the streets, away from those taking cover within. Again he ignored guns in favor for of sharper weapons, a double-bladed scythe like creation which glowed and crackled when wielded. The Bat aimed to kill; he wasn't going to waste his time sparing the lives of monsters when innocent people were at risk.
He was distracted by what was occurring on the street, and he could see that Selina was atop the ship from his vantage point. He watched as men and boys raced to freedom, and he moved to direct them, to keep the aliens away as best he could.
But then the weapons turned. He broke into a run, but his cry of warning was lost in the hiss of electricity, of blue energy burning flesh. There was nothing the Bat could do to stop the canons, but he couldn't just stand there and watch. Death was nothing and his own life mattered little. So he leapt into the fray, dodging and weaving, grabbing whoever was closest to him and attempting to drag them to safety. It was chaos, but he had to try, he had to. He pushed. He shoved. He all but threw the escaped prisoners ahead of himself; better he get hit than them.]
