Re: Fenway Park, an hour or two into the fighting—Peggy/Captain America
[She bites back a smile as she looks up at him, equally flustered by the moment and indulging in it as much as her mind would allow. Still woefully pragmatic, Peggy can't get too wrapped up in him when there's war waging around them, but she allows herself this string of moments. She doesn't really consider what the media might run, though she is definitely always aware of Steve's reputation amongst the people. He's Captain America, after all. It's always something in the back of his mind, something that had that woman wrapping a belt around his neck on that bus and trying to have her way with him. He's a superhero, and Peggy's fallen for him. (But, that fact, that she's fallen for him, is years old. Seventy, in fact.)
She's about to say something about that, about Captain America standing in the middle of the street with a woman, when he reacts to something. Her neck jerks to the side, and she catches the creature falling to the ground. When she turns back to him, a sculpted eyebrow is cocked up.] I'll add that to the list, Captain. [She sounds exceptionally fond regardless. There's a look that betrays a lot of her feelings, along with that blush, and then she clears her throat.] You can spend your time trying to impress me, but I'll be incredibly disappointed if you do.
