Re: Queens: Evie/Wren/Luke
[It came as a surprise to him, that Wren didn't know where Evie had been staying since Silent Hill. They'd talked, obviously, and so Luke assumed she would've filled her friend in. But maybe not. Oh well, she could do it now. He kept quiet on that front, letting Evie answer Wren's questions herself, and in comparison he wasn't frowning about the lack of information. Oh, it wasn't that he didn't care. But he kind of had a lot to deal with, between his own fears and Gus' separation anxiety, not to mention the fact that he was pretty sure Wren still wasn't entirely convinced that the kids were alive. He'd been all but shoving Gus and Lia at her to try to fix that, but it was a work in progress.
His expression turned troubled, just for a second, when she reassured him but didn't look at Gus. It passed, though, because he hid it well, and Luke managed a smile. Right. It was okay. Sure it was.
Lia and Daisy were still occupied in the living room, and so he set Gus--who'd returned Evie's wave with a hesitant one of his own--down on the chair with the promise that he could sit on his lap. He watched Wren set the table, watched her ramble on about how dangerous Gotham was, but what was he supposed to do? Tell Evie to quit her job? Demand it? Inwardly, he sighed. He wondered if Jack knew.] Wren. [He caught her wrist, gently, as she was setting the table.] It's okay. I know Gotham can be dangerous, but Evie would never put Daisy in danger. We just had bad experiences with it because of Bruce and Selina. [He glanced at Evie.] Is it permanent, this job?
