Re: bruce/eddie quicklog on the watchtower
[Stephanie was a... delicate subject to discuss. Like Selina, Bruce didn't relish the careful balance of being in the middle; he was determined to do it, however. Stephanie was like a daughter to him, but Eddie was his best friend. One of his only friends, to be honest. And he deserved to do what was best for him, what he needed to do.] Yes, she told me about that. [Their conversation on the matter had clearly gone better, however. Bruce sipped his drink while he listened, trying to imagine what would happen if one of his long-ago exes returned; he'd moved on, that much was obvious, and it would be difficult if the other hadn't.] You're past that point. [It was more of a question, rather than a statement.] You shouldn't have to compromise yourself to make anyone happy, Eddie. Sometimes... it's simply better for people to be apart. [He shrugged.] She'll realize that, in time. But I'm sorry it didn't go well.
[He paused, contemplating whether or not to bring up what Stephanie had told him. Bruce supposed it couldn't hurt, and he gave his friend a look, head tipped to the side.] I hear you've found someone who does make you happy without making you change, too.
