Re: Log, Marvel: Penny R & Cris M
She rolled her eyes, but smiled, he knew damn well if she'd had a kid he'd be the first to know all about it - spending a hundred years in some weird door or not. But she teased him anyway, "You see what happens when you go off for a hundred years? I just start making babies," she teased. Not that she didn't want kids. Sure she did, but that was a weird point of contention with her and her lady back home. But that talk wasn't on the docket for conversation today, that conversation had happened last New Years after about forty nine bottles of cheap champagne and her showing up via taxicab on drunk as shit on his front door step.
She smiled when he brought the highchair over but she didn't put her in it right away, instead let the two get acquainted, let Joy smile and get her flirt on for a little while all smiles and giggles and looking like Clementine right then. "This here is Joy, she's my cousin. She belongs to my cousin Graham and my friend Clementine, they're dealing with door drama so I'm babysittin' her for a little while. Addin' to my stockpile of favors," she said with a grin. "Might do my other charge some good too I think, bein' around a little one, get a feel for cryin' and diapers, and the good stuff too I hope."
She smirked at him, "What time does my little bestie get done with school? I could use a few favors from you too, honey," she teased as she sat Joy in the highchair and started taking her coat off and getting them both situated and comfortable, she fussed just a little, but not much, she was a real good baby for all the stimulation of the city and the changing hands that went on. Penny just hoped her parents weren't gone too long, and were able to work something out between them so she got the benefit of having them both around. It would be good for all three of them to have a hand in taking care of her, and that's what she wanted to see more than anything. Graham and Clem didn't need to live happily ever after, but she wanted to see them both with an active role in parenting their baby. She knew they both had to want that too. Somewhere inside of them. Maybe. It wasn't her place to figure that out, it was her place to make sure the baby got some love and attention and meals until they got back and told her what the next step was. But she worked in the healthcare industry, she always hoped for the healthiest option. She was working now with mothers and babies trying to keep families together, of course she wanted that for her own family. Her damn mind was racing and wandering even as she buckled Joy into the highchair and kissed the top of her sweet smelling head.
Then she hugged Cris properly and buried her face in his shoulder. "I look good. I feel like shit," she mumbled as she just stayed there a moment. "Everyone's gone half crazy." She finally pulled away and kissed his cheek and flopped into the booth taking off her own coat and scarf. She wasn't dressed for her new job under her winter gear, jeans and a sweatshirt. She dug around for a moment in the baby bag and gave Joy a ring of plastic keys to do with what she wanted. And into her mouth they went.
She looked over at his sports page and smiled the familiarity of the moment was something she was practically melting into. "Bring your bracket?"March Madness. Roll Tide. "The Tide had me a little nervous on Saturday. One damn point."
