Re: [spidey kids in silent hill]
[Despite tall drops from clocktowers, Gwen was good at following orders. Her dad had been military before he'd become police, and she'd been in enough situations where Pete screamed at her behind a mask to know that listening made things less complicated (mostly). This time, she did just that. She didn't argue with Flash, and she didn't continue her insistent tug to his arm. She could tell his aim was off, but the quicker she got the door open, the quicker she could get him out; remaining to argue about targeting would be a huge waste of time.
So, get the door open. Right. On it. On it. Get the door open, Stacy. She was about to put the key in the lock when she heard the swing of the metal blade, and Flash was yelling, and more shots were being fired. Fingers shaking, but she managed to get the key into the lock. It didn't turn immediately, and she thought she heard a little girl's laughter as she tried again. The key was old, and Gwen began a litany of don't break in her mind. But it wouldn't turn.] It won't turn, Flash!
[She had the belated realization that maybe the door wouldn't open until it was ready to. Maybe it was like Flash said all along; the door wouldn't let them go until it was ready to. She knew this place didn't want her; it had even given her a key. But Flash... Oh, God, what if it had never been about that Meredith girl...
She saw Flash's knees buckle as he tried to keep the grotesque pyramid man away from the door, and all Gwen could hear was the blood rushing in her ears. Not like this. This couldn't end like this. There was no point! Peter was already with Mary Jane. They couldn't die like this.
Flash slumped; he fired. She saw the blade come down along Flash's legs in something that resembled slow motion, regardless of the impossibility of the trick of perception. Everything stopped as blood sprayed and muscle split. Blade on bone, and all Gwen could think was just like the comics. But then the key turned in the lock, just as Flash fired that final shot. She ran out into the hall, and she reached back for Flash's forearm as he crawled. Both of her feet beyond the door, her increased strength was back, and she yanked Flash into the hallway behind her, Pyramid Head looming in the open doorway for a second before it closed with a resounding slam.
They were covered in blood, but they were alive. Right? They were alive. With shaking fingers, she immediately yanked her hoodie off and began tearing it into pieces to create a tourniquet as she crawled to Flash.]
