Re: [spidey kids in silent hill]
[Gwen didn't think to question her placement in the classroom until Flash asked what she was doing there. Like the words on the board that didn't represent as numerals, it was something out of place, and she thought of the puzzles in the paper she'd always done with her dad when she was a kid - the ones were you picked the differences between one cartoon and the next. She was still trying to figure out the confusion, and she'd just decided that she must be attending the class to help Flash catch up and actually get his grade up to passing before graduation, when the teacher emitted that harpy scream.]
You can't talk to a student like that. I'll tell my dad, and the principle. [Gwen's voice was steady and even, and she might've continued if Flash hadn't made that sound. She knew about his home life, and she always suspected he came over to her house for tutoring to avoid going home to his dad, but she'd never heard anything like that sound, not from him.] Flash-

She tried to remember what class he had this hour, but she couldn't remember, and then she glanced back at the teacher and everything changed. Maybe it was the trigger of a melting face, but she was in another one of those nightmarish rooms, surrounded by monsters in the chairs. She looked over at Flash, but he didn't seem to see, and he was covering his mouth and... scared. He was scared.
She slid from her desk, and a key clattered and fell onto the floor. It hadn't been there before, and she looked around the room. Monsters everywhere, but she thought she saw the shape of a dark-haired girl running across the open hallway door. But there wasn't time for that. She pocketed the key, and she went over to him.] Flash, we should go. You don't need this class, and-
[The siren made her look up; she didn't think it was a school bell anymore. She reached for him.] Flash, I'm scared. Let's go, okay?
