Re: quicklog: Jean G/Wanda M - Wanda's garden
[There had been women in her village, old ones, grandmothers and mothers who said that there were secrets in dreams. They had meanings that no one else knew. Wanda herself had never learned how to devise their meaning; everything in her dreams was clear, even when the rest of her life was not.
Her steps slowed as the details left Jean, words forming into a larger picture with a giant question mark on it. Oh, she knew that there were things that happened in her future that no one was telling her. She didn't ask - knowing could be just as damning as not knowing. Was that thing that she didn't know the same as Jean's reason for being angry? Wanda stopped and looked at the other woman, her welcoming smile gone, concern in the tilt of her head.]
That's the Phoenix in you talking. [Quiet.] I must have changed something that shouldn't have changed. Stopped. Or started. [More quiet musings as she reached out for Jean's hand without the slightest bit of fear, wholly unperturbed by the things she was saying.]
