Re: Shadowcrest: Sam & Louis
Ok, so even Sam had a hard time turning the dead guy in the club line into something good. It was the one thing that gave her pause, yeah? Killing, and maybe that was bullshit. The Alexander clan sure didn't give a shit about taking a life when it was necessary or whatever, but she'd never been able to get behind that. Stealing? Yeah, sure, whatever, but not this. Still, this was Lou, and she was sure the guy was the one who fucked him up. So, it was easier than it would have been otherwise or whatever. "Yeah, well, he should have taken you dancing or whatever, instead of doing this cult bullshit."
Open and closed case, absolution given with a gap-tooth smile.
He asked if she was staying in Gotham, and her return shrug was a little less sure, yeah? "I'd asked Neil to set me up, but I need to not ask him for shit anymore." There was a pause, and then she added - sheepishly, yeah? "We fought about it or whatever, me and Cris, about me asking Neil for shit. I promised Meredith I wouldn't anymore. Whatever." Another shrug. "I don't want Marvel. Cris just keeps telling me to live with him, and if I'm in Marvel I'll give in, yeah? I want to do it on my own. I want to be on my own and not be crashing with anyone else for once." Then her smile became a little more earnest. "Plus, I hate the fucking cold, man."
She looked around. "Anyway, I better go if I'm going to find a place to crash tonight, yeah? My work history is here, so I should be able to get something and maybe get my old place back." She didn't sound excited about it, but it was something. She kissed her brother's cheek. "I'll come see you once I'm set up, yeah? Don't be a fucking stranger."
