Re: Mayflowers: Max & Sharon
"You're really going to deny me points for the dog? Come on. I was in shock. I almost guessed he was a seal." Max's smile was genuine; she liked Carter. She wasn't working for the woman anymore, and she had increasing concerns that Brandon's ninja version of a midlife crisis might end up putting her at odds with every Avenger, and she thought Carter might qualify once she got over her breakup from Captain Curt. But she liked the woman.
Bypassing the burger in favor of a beer, which she popped at handed to the amateur dog walker, Max followed up by opening her own beer. And a hoodie was as good as dog sweater; sorry Carter. "SHIELD has dogs? I thought you were defecting." Max couldn't keep up with what was going on with SHIELD or Hydra, but she'd never been good at that kind of thing; she liked a handler in her ear and a planner, like McKendrick, for the finer details that didn't involve breaking and entering or where to land her bullet. She hated it when someone tried to tell her where to hand a bullet.
She chuckled, though, at the idea of the dog being cold. "It has fur." She swigged her beer.
