Re: Penthouse: Iris / Sam
[Sam didn't react to Iris' words right away, yeah? There was just the hug first, as tight as Sam could fucking manage in her current state. She was tired and drugged, whatever, but she went from hugging to clinging pretty fucking fast, because despite the niggling knowledge it the back of her mind about missing things, this was still Iris. It was still her sister, and Iris was alive, and Joey wasn't, and Sam needed the fucking hug. This wasn't some nurse whose face she barely recognized, and it wasn't two guards that Lou had somehow KO'ed in that other apartment.
Iris just rubbed a hand over her back, and Iris rocked, and it was that whisper that brought the fucking sobs. No words, and no real fucking explanation, just shoulders that shook with almost-violence, sobs and fucking sobs. It was more than Joey, yeah? It was months of being weary. Sam didn't remember the specifics or whatever, but she remembered stress, and she remembered terrified, and that was what brought the tears. That, and Joey being gone or whatever, and all she could think of was a heart in a box.]
