[Iris' expression fell just a bit and went a little distant at Sam's question. She thought of the Gotham she'd been in for years, how similar it was in so many ways to the one she found herself in again. There were a few very large changes - someone that was in this one that wasn't in the other, and someone in this one that was different than the other. And then there was her family, and she still wasn't quite certain if that fell into the positive or negative column. The thought rolled through her mind as she tried to figure out how to respond to the question, and when she did, her voice was soft.] Yeah, a little. [It was honest, maybe too much.] But I'm here again now.
[She watched Sam's slow movements, and even though there was plenty of time to predict what was happening, the hug still caught her off-guard. She blinked for a second, frozen, before angling herself to be able to bring her arms around Sam. It reminded her, just a little, of how TJ hugged - with his whole heart and most of his body. From Sam, it was a surprise, but she wasn't going to push it away. After a moment of stillness, she moved one hand to rub over the section of Sam's back that she could reach without pulling away from the embrace. Back, forth, slow. And a whisper.] Hey...
