Re: Gramercy: Harry and Gwen
If the hug lasted a little too long, Harry didn't notice anything off about it. He held on just as long as Gwen, and he didn't dig into anything like why. She was fresh in his memories, maybe fresher than he was in hers. He knew nothing about their relationship or lack thereof. He had no idea how long it'd been since she'd seen him, since she'd gotten a hug from him. Harry's yesterday(a day where his father was alive and where Gwen helped him study for a test) existed in the distant past for Gwen, and he had no idea how long it had been since she'd seen him.
His smile aimed for reassuring when Harry followed her into the apartment. He was glad to hear that her mother was still around. It felt strange to mourn for his father, like he'd already done it, gotten it all out. Maybe it was the realization that his father had actually died months prior. Despite adjusting to that tragedy with some steadiness, Harry wasn't sure that he was ready to learn about anyone else that might have died.
He took a seat when she gestured, watching the way her legs curled under herself like action might unearth some clues about what he missed. Since her opening of the door, Harry hadn't quite stopped staring. Not gawking, but studying her, trying to read between the lines.
"It feels weird to ask how you've been," and even the words wavered on the tight rope of forming a question, his eyes narrowed like he couldn't decide if he was asking her or not. He finally looked away from her, looking at the wall with books in their shelves.
"Its kind of strange, really. I know a part of me remembers everything because you don't look so different, and even learning about my dad wasn't such a surprise. I guess its like waking up from a dream where something bad happened, and then you wake up and it actually does." He looked at Gwen again in an attempt to gauge whether or not she thought he was crazy. Her reaction would determine whether he admitted such things to anyone else.
