Re: Chinatown - Bruce/Selina
[He began to turn in time to catch movement in the corner of his vision, but instead of moving toward him the Marauder fell back, knocked off balance, though the Bat hadn't touched him. And while he knew she was here, somewhere, he still didn't expect to see Selina. Her being here had motivated him to come, in part, but it was true that he hadn't come exclusively for her. She'd chosen to get involved, after all, and despite her claims that Dr. Banner was just a friend he wasn't fully convinced. She didn't need him to come to her rescue; he'd proven that he failed miserably in that regard even if she did. So he told himself, just as he would tell anyone if they asked, that this wasn't about her.
There was no time to stare. There was barely time enough for a glance, recognition and acceptance, before he turned back to the threat at hand.] My suit is fine. [Steel met steel as he raised his sword to meet the blade of an axe, aimed for his face, and knocked it aside.] A blow to the head tends to disrupt one's balance. [Deadpan, and only slightly breathless, though he managed to duck the axe's arc and speak remarkably well. As for whether or not he needed help, he glanced over his shoulder, a quick thing.] Do you think I'm going to tell you no?
[Answer enough, in his mind. Then, seemingly annoyed by the Marauder's persistence, he spun, and the sword ended up half-buried in the alien's chest. His one rule didn't apply to these creatures, apparently.]
