Re: Meatpacking District - Jason/Gwen/Hulk
[Gwen was fairly sure she was calmer than Jason at this point, and she had a moment to wonder if this was bad for possible future interactions. Somehow, she'd thought Gotham was worse than anything that could be encountered in her own door, but she'd clearly been wrong. The ground righted itself, and she exhaled with relief when she saw Iron Man and Hulk bantering. Bantering was good, and Doctor Banner hadn't actually tried to hurt them, even when Jason was shooting at him.
Something came up on Gwen's right, and she shot it as easily as she had before, grateful for all her dad's target practices. She was always good at hyperfocusing, and her ability went quiet when she was aiming at something. Not Lizards echoed in her mind, and it was okay. And she didn't realize Tony knew Jason, or she would have felt calmer about that too.
But the pirate came then, crackling energy and glowing lasso, and she couldn't reload fast enough to shoot it. She tried to focus, tried to make the ground go out from under it, but she couldn't control that yet. She inched behind Jason's shoulder, because going back wasn't presently an option either.]
