Re: Quicklog, Ocean's 11: Lin A, Louis D, Neil D, Zatanna Z
[Neil was entirely unprepared for any of this. Lin's voice, the words, they barely registered; all he could think was just how in over his head he was. Lin, too. He just hoped the same wasn't true for this woman. Zatanna. If she couldn't help Louis, he didn't know who else could. And if things went wrong, if worse came to worst, what did he do? What could he do? Get Lin out, maybe. Stay to help the woman as much as he could. Even though he had no knowledge of or skill with magic he couldn't just leave Louis like this. A strange light in his eyes, and so very wrong.
He didn't understand that he, and Lin behind him, were protected. The lights shattered and Neil winced, instinctively trying to push Lin further behind him to shield him from... what? Louis, maybe. Or the light that suddenly became too bright, and logic dictated he close his eyes; protection or not. But the salt, Zatanna needed the salt, and he opened his eyes and fumbled to open the flap on the side of the box so she could use it as she needed.] Here. [He all but pushed it into her hands, even as the light dimmed. Behold? Behold what?
Again, Neil stepped back. He looked at his brother, and then he looked down as the ground beneath Zatanna's feet grew hot.] Louis. Stop. [Not that he thought it would make a difference, but still, the words came.]
