Re: Jurassic Park: Gwen & Peter
She rolled her eyes when he took the bait about the non-existent manifesto. "One of these days, I'm going to make you go through the entire American Museum of Natural History. The whole tour, with the headphones and everything, without stopping. On senior citizen day." She said it like it was a huge threat, and it kind of was. He wasn't the best at staying still. He was antsy, even before spider bites. Having to walk with a bunch of old people at a super leisurely pace and listen to stuff he already knew would drive him nuts. She smiled as she wondered how long he'd be able to take it before breaking formation. It was a simple little thought, harmless, and she managed not to think of the suggestion as anything encroaching on her no-Mary Jane-boys edict.
Then he frowned, and she was way sorry she'd gone back to the topic of the redhead. Maybe she needed to add complete avoidance of the redhead-topic to her list of things. In an effort to move in that direction, she didn't actually respond to his comment that what Mary Jane had done was pretty crappy, but maybe she was a little bit less tense in the shoulders after. Not much, okay! Just a little bit. And it was a good thing she didn't know he was thinking that drinking and being upset meant he could understand why Mary Jane did what she did. That would've just set off more Mary Jane-proximity alarms.
She didn't mind getting wet either. She was a chronic umbrella carrier back home, but a little water wasn't going to kill either of them, even without their abilities to make the sniffles harder to hold onto. So, the rain wasn't a big deal, but the rapidly approaching group of so-not-velociraptors was kind of terrifying.
Fast walking. Fast walking was good for like two seconds, and then she finally gave up pretending and let go his sleeve. "Run!" Because, yeah, running. Running would be good now. The double gates were up ahead, and she could just see the tops. She knew height and breadth made the gate look closer than it was in actuality, but she was completely willing to ignore science for delusions for the next ten minutes.
