Re: Jurassic Park: Gwen & Peter
She liked the snow. She didn't like the fact that the snow was being caused by a sad and lonely woman in Tuxedo Park, one that she couldn't seem to help, no matter how she tried, but she liked the snow as a general premise. It was good practice with the webs, and she liked helping people. She wasn't altruistic like he was, and she didn't feel this overwhelming need to save the world. But when she put the suit on, then she felt like she could make some kind of difference that didn't come at the end of a microscope, and she liked it. But the warmth was nice, and bright colors were generally acknowledged to serve as mood enhancers; it was hard to be blue around all that green.
He stretched out, and she watched out of the corner of her eye. Totally casual, and she turned her attention back toward the treeline.
She shook her head when he talked, and her smile was a wan thing. "It's okay, Peter. I don't want to get you stuck in the middle of this. She messaged me. She told me why she slept with Jason. Jason paid attention to her, and it wasn't even that she liked him or anything." She sounded hurt, but resigned, because she was both. "I just want to forget about it, concentrate on other things. She'll meet people here, and she'll get to know you guys, and it'll be fine." She sounded dulled, and she felt that way.
"Okay, okay. I'm not causing anything. Down, bug boy. Let's just go find some dinosaurs, okay?" There wasn't much of a point following that particular line of conversation either, not to her thinking. She'd meant it when she told Mary Jane that she'd decided she was done with all of this. "Friends, Peter Parker, hunt extinct creatures for totally non-violent DNA swabbing," she added, going for a little bit more upbeat as she packed up her jacket and scarf, cap off now too, and hopped off the car and pointed South.
