Re: Gotham: Penny & Jake & Clem
[Jake didn't know anything about snow. Gotham was slush and dirt, if so much as a flake fell it was pee-yellow before it had sat on the ground two minutes and he pricked up his ears (and he straightened that muss of hair real quick with his fingers with a blunted glare at Penny's hand).]
Where are you at, Aunt Penny? [He poured coffee with the clear and unconscious comfort of someone who'd settled in. There was something real comfortable about a place that wasn't going on moving any, that didn't need a lock to keep your stuff safe and where the food in the fridge stayed there until you were hungry. Jake had lived without coffee and eggs and leftovers within reach for near a year, he liked Clem's place plenty enough not to want to go on moving. He passed one cup over to one aunt and another on to the next and he leaned over Clem's shoulder and picked up a strawberry in two fingers, and juice trickled down his throat as he spoke, all mouthful.]
