Re: Gotham: Penny & Jake & Clem
[Jake would be real surprised how much no she was saying to his daddy lately, but she knew it wasn't Graham at the door. She wouldn't still be sitting there, flipping pages, if she thought that man was there. She figured Graham hadn't seen or spoke to Jake since the diner, neither, seeing as he hadn't come on asking her any questions about things. She figured it was coming, but they weren't there just yet.
And she didn't get herself right up when she heard Penny come in. Clem let the woman talk to Jake some, and the pages kept flipping between her fingers until Penny called her over. It wasn't reluctant, her standing, but she she was slow to walk on over to Graham's cousin. Not on account of not liking Penny, because she did; she liked Penny real well. No, it was on account of their last meeting, Clem running out of that diner and still regretting it.
But she came on over, and she hipped against a counter and smiled real pretty.] You look real good Penny. Little while home suited you some. [She said it honest. The other woman did look real good, and Clem couldn't help but think more family around for Jake couldn't hurt a lick.]
