Homeless folks didn't have places to put dogs and cats. Clem was real sure of that, but she didn't say it. There didn't seem to be much point in explaining, not when the woman was real unhinged. If she wasn't, she'd never go out in public looking like that. Even if she was some working girl (and Clem assumed those womenfolk got black eyes regular), she could try some. Sane women tried some to look pretty, and Clem was sure of it. So, she didn't argue any.
"How about I dial and hold the phone? I got a good speaker. It's an iPhone6, and the sound's real nice. Your voice will carry just fine," she offered. She felt real nice, like a good samaritan some. Though the mention of door folk did make its way through eventually, even as Clem pulled her phone out of her pocket and held it tight. "You say door folk? What door folk?"
